This week our yoga will be focusing on aiding in digestion, which is perfect after Thanksgiving.
Your pose today is..
Begin in a seated position. Place your left leg straight on the floor and toes facing up. Right knee bent with right foot outside of left thigh. Both sitting bones are on the floor. Place right hand behind you. Inhale to raise left arm up and exhale band the left elbow and place left elbow on outside of right thigh or you can hug right knee into chest to sit tall. Inhale to extend spine upward and exhale to deepen into your twist. Hold for 5-7 breaths. Each exhale is an opportunity to deepen into the twist. Switch sides.
This pose allows blood to flow through the digestive traxct and by the motion on the twist new blood with enter the digestive system. This is one of my favorite poses. As always, especially with twist motions, drink plenty of water to flush out any toxins.
