This week our yoga will be focusing on aiding in digestion, which is perfect after Thanksgiving.
Your pose today is..
Begin in a seated position with knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Come forward on your sitting bones and lean back until elbows are straight. Lift feet about two inches off the floor and bring your arms forward, palms down. Straighten your legs and tighten your core. Lift legs to create a V shape forming a 45 to 60 degree angle. Hold for 5-7 breaths.
This pose lifts the diaphram to take pressure off of your stomach and liver creating space for oxygen to flow through to your belly. Because you engage your core and lower back to maintain support, pressure is being places on the abdominal to aid in digestion.
