We decided to take our Go Pros for a dip! Enjoy!!
Today’s post is going to be about the time Linds & I took on the flying trapeze!
Neither of us had ever done this before & there happened to be a groupon, so why not?! There was some stretching and a little lesson beforehand, and UP you go! There were people joining us of all ages, so I was like, how bad can it be??
Well let me just say, I did not like it, no sir! I knowww. I wanted to love it so bad, I attempted, and no. I’m not even afraid of heights! All I remember is being yelled at to keep my butt tight and then I froze. Haha! Anyone on bowling knows, don’t yell at me when I’m about to do my thing, just no. I’m not sure if it was just this location, maybe I’ll enjoy it more someplace else…
Don’t let me stop you though, because Linds did really well! Haha. She swung a few times, did a flip & all this fancy stuff! I was cheering her on! Anyway, look it’s Linds!
Thanks for reading!!
Austin is the music capital of the world and I love discovering new artists. Everywhere I’ve been and everywhere I go, it’s something I will always enjoy. I have a passion for the arts and I’m lucky to live somewhere that it is flowing all around! I was still very new to Austin when I first saw Meganoke perform at the Aviary downtown. I remember her music being very soulful, other worldly and oh so beautiful! I knew had to be friends right away and share her lovely talent with you all! I was looking forward to seeing her perform again and last Friday she was performing at the eclectic, Carousel Lounge. Meganoke’s performance was wonderful, and boy can she dance! I danced too, no surprise!
We got to do a special Q&A with the lovely lady, enjoy!
Q: Where did the name Meganoke come from?
A: The name was inspired by Princess Mononoke due to the many similarities I have with the character.
Q: How do you describe your music to people?
A: Futuristic jazz
Q: What image do you think your music conveys?
A: One of my most common recurring themes is what i like to call ‘death time unknown’ which means that to bring death and its close reality to the forefront of our thoughts brings about an appreciation and preciousness for life that can not be found through other means.
Q: Who are your music influences?
A: Cocorosie, Portishead, Billie Holiday, underground hip hop
Q: What first made your realize you wanted to pursue a career in music?
A: I give all credit for my musical path to Riddlore, he saw in me what was possible long before I did, supported and made possible everything I have accomplished in music.
Q: What can people expect from your live performances?
A: My goal is for every live performance to be a different experience for my audience- being surrounded by so many amazing artists I am able to bring musicians, dancers and light artists to create a unique experience.
Q: If you had to describe your music in three or four words, what would you call it?
A: Big bass, dreamy, linguistic
Q: Do you have any other interests or talents you would like to share? How do you like to enjoy your relaxation time away from music?
A: Before I began to focus my attention on music, dance was my obsession, most currently Argentine tango has my heart and the movements experienced through contemporary dance truly fill me in a way that few things can.
Music is….salvation- path and destination.
and lastly, where can we find you?
Hello my loves! This Thursday, we wanted to share with you our Austin zipline tour with Lake Travis Zipline Adventures!
There were 5 zip lines ranging from 250 feet to one of the longest ziplines in Texas – over 2800 feet. While waiting between each zip, you will enjoy amazing views of Lake Travis and the Texas Hill Country. The staff was very professional and helpful throughout hikes and nature walks up to the lines. For the grand finale, imagine launching off a cliff 20 stories high and zipping over 2800 feet across beautiful Lake Travis.
Linds and I decided to film the final zipline together since it’s a dual zip and you race each other!
The overall experience was awesome, we highly recommend trying it out!!
This throwback Thursday we wanted to share with you all the time we went wakeboarding last summer! Lindsay loves to surf, as do I. However, I’m very rusty. Haha. We’ve both never wake surfed before and since we couldn’t make it to the beach, we figured this was the next best thing!
Linds went first. She was a natural and popped up pretty much right away. We both took some video of our runs on the wake board, so maybe at a later date we’ll add some of that goodness. I observed from the boat until it was my turn..
I bailed a lot. Haha! It took me a few tries to get up, but once I did that,it was no problem afterwards. You have to keep your feet a certain distance apart and have your knees slightly bent, so when the boat starts going you can press your heels on the board and pop up. Total leg workout for sure! Once you’re up you can play around with the wake. We were working with choppy water, but it was still really fun and we plan to do it again!
Hello everyone! Welcome to Tuesday Talks! It’s when we get to chatting with you guys about what’s on our minds, what’s going on,anything goes!
Today I’d like to post about Thursday’s viewing party for our girls, Karena & Katrina and their new show, Toned up!
If you’ve been reading our blog, you know we are Tone it up girls at heart! They are amazing fitness/ lifestyle coaches with hearts made of glitter! If you’re new here or have no idea what Tone it up is, go here! You’re going to love them!! The TIU community has girls coming together around the world to make friendships, live healthier lives and motivate each other. What could be better?! Here in Austin, us tone it up girls threw a Toned Up premier party! The show is basically 30 minutes of behind the scenes action of Tone it up. Looking for the TIU Austin group on facebook? If you couldn’t make it this time, no worries! We’ll be doing it again, just keep an eye on that facebook page for updates! We LOVE meeting fellow TIU team members!
We didn’t really organize this time who would bring what, but I think it worked out awesome! Lots of healthy yummy food! Next time we’ll be sure to plan so we don’t end up with 10 veggie trays, haha! 😉
We’re looking forward to future Toned up viewing parties, meetups and group workouts! It’s a beautiful thing to be around such lovely, uplifting spirits.
Can’t wait to meet more of you!
Kel and I ran the Blacklight 5k Run 2013 November 30th in Austin, TX. Ok, we didn’t run it. We walked. But that’s okay. My knee was still hurting, we hadn’t been training really, and Kelly was fine to walk it with me. You don’t always have to go full out all the time!
Hello! Last weekend, Lindsay & I went zip lining for the first time!
